First, each patient is assigned an ID card with their unique personal code.
All the plasticware containing samples will be branded with ID tags containing the patient's unique personal code.
Every work area in the lab will detect wireless signals from these ID tags. They areidentified, tracked, and recorded at each step of the ART process.
The RI Witness system must confirm the identity of the samples to allow the embryologists to proceed to insemination.
In the unlikely event that samples are mismatched, the system immediately alerts the embryologist and records the error for review in the system. This stops proceedings and helps prevent any potential errors.
Priorto the embryo transfer, the patient's ID card is automatically checked against the tagged embryo dish. Ifit's a match, a "green light" is given to go ahead with the process.
