Dr. John Norian of HRC Fertility Rancho Cucamonga shares expert insights into how uterine fibroids can impact reproductive health. He states that “Uterine fibroids are fibrous balls of tissue. Think of it as almost like scar tissue that forms and they’re benign. In other words, they don’t metastasize and they don’t spread elsewhere in the body. They however can cause problems, especially gynecological problems and fertility problems.”
Dr. Norian goes on to discuss how uterine fibroids can affect someone’s ability to get pregnant and how they can affect pregnancy outcomes. “Uterine fibroids definitely play a role with fertility. The question is where are they located? It’s sort of like real estate,” states Dr. Norian.
